Life back in the UK, eighteen months later...

The evening view from my living room

This blog continues to attract hundreds of readers, and it occurred to me that some of you may like to know what happened next.
When I went to Kerala and wrote the story of my month at an Ayurvedic retreat, I was living in Italy. Italy wasn't really working for me and, after lengthy deliberation, I left Italy earlier this year, and returned to Lincoln, where I had spent many happy years running a business and raising a family, back in the 80s and 90s.
After unpacking and gradually getting the place straight, I decided to get back to my beloved keyboard and write the story of the new life I am building in the shadow of Lincoln Cathedral. 

I have given my new writing the title "The View from Saint Hugh," after Hugh of Lincoln, whose statue gazes out over the city from the top of one of the Cathedral's towers.
